Kotahitanga Week

Last week we shared a great week of learning based around the concept of Kotahitanga. Below is video of our boys putting on the best performance of Tika Tonu. Our very own Nikora Jennings is front and center!

In the background you can see the banners each class made. Room 3’s banner represents a friendly and fun learning environment with the music notes and sports. The grassy mountains and hills represent Te Mata Peak the hills that the HNI students work under. Our banner of course includes the HNI badge and the letters H, N & I. The hands represent reaching for gold, that is why the hand in the middle is gold. The Tuki Tuki river earns its spot on the banner as being one of the only rivers in Havelock North and also it’s part of our mihi. The black and green koru’s are on our banner for our schools Maori heritage and to show growth because we are going to learn and grow together.
